Awards
Grand Bend Strip is committed to quality journalism, and publisher Casey Lessard was awarded first place for Outstanding Reporter Initiative at the 2008 Canadian Community Newspapers Association awards, second place for Photographer of the Year at the Ontario Community Newspapers Association awards, and third place for Photo Layout at the OCNA awards. This is Lessard’s second year in a row being named second best photographer in Ontario, previously for his work at the Haliburton Echo and Minden Times. The 2007 competitions also resulted in prizes for best feature photo in Ontario and second and third best photo essays in Canada.
